In summary the 2007 survey results show that there is still significant room for improvement in respect of all key HR transactional processes.
The key findings for the recruitment process were:-

Most companies now use e-recruitment to capture applicant details.

Most companies do not assess the performance of different advertisement campaigns.

Very few assess the performance of recruitment agencies they use.

Short listing is still performed manually by almost all the companies surveyed.

Very few companies have time targets for the complete recruitment cycle.
The Key findings relating to the use of HR / Payroll systems were:-

All the companies surveyed said that their system was not flexible enough to meet the needs of the business.

Most companies think that their HR data is less than 75% accurate.

Very few companies carry out a Disaster Recovery test on their HR data.

Whilst most companies allowed employees access to their own data using self service, line managers did not have the same level of access to their subordinates data.
The key findings for the absence process were:-

Almost all companies are now using self service to capture absence data.

Most companies still have between 3 and 5 sickness absences per annum for each employee.

Most companies now perform return to work interviews and record them on the HR system.

All the companies surveyed said they used some form of measurement methodology to monitor sickness levels.
